I used to have car envy!
Since Oronzo got his new 2007 Jeep Compass 4x4 earlier this week I've been feeling a bit of car envy. It wasn't his car especially that I was envying, although it is quite nice, rather the pristine cleanliness of his car!. I drove his car yesterday and then looked at my messy car, a 2002 Hyundai Accent GL, and decided it was time to give it a major cleaning!

Oronzo got me a trash bag, ARMOR ALL® wipes, and pulled out the shop vac for me and I went to work. I purged the car of all miscellaneous toys, books, hair clips, and an assortment of other odds and ends. Can you believe, I found my $50 hands free headpiece that I lost less than a month after purchasing it? It was hiding deep underneath my driver's seat. Hooray!

I threw out all the trash (including some rather nasty sippy cups), I scrubbed every nook and cranny inside, and then I vacuumed like there was no tomorrow (I even vacuumed outside my trunk), sucking up Cheerios, hair, lint, dirt, rocks, and other indescribable things!

My car hasn't had a cleaning like this since my brother, Cole, came to visit me a couple years back and scoured my car out of embarrassment for having to ride in it. It now looks fantastic and I did it all by myself!

Well, I take that back, as I was cleaning out my car Snuggle Bug was helping me "clean" the outside of my car with a sponge and some spray cleaner, bless his heart. I told him, "When you're a bit older, I'll gladly pay you $25 cash to do all of this for me, deal?!"

I'm exhausted and in desperate need of a shower from all the interior cleaning. I think I'm going to treat my car to a car wash done by a professional. :)

So, when's the last time you cleaned out your car? Did you find anything unexpected in it?

I NEED to clean out my car, but I've been putting it off...I'm too tired, it's too hot, it's raining...all the usual excuses.

I bought my car used 2 1/2 years ago, and I gave it a complete cleaning inside and out after I bought it. I'm sure it's been cleaned well since then, but probably not as well as that first time!

WIth a toddler, my car ALWAYS needs to be cleaned out and i really hate doing it.

I think my husband and I did it a few months ago.

I don't want to know what we'd find in it . . .

DS keeps complaining about the mess in the car, and I can't blame him: His sister has decided that the drink holder in the car is actually a "taco holder" . . . which tells you much about our taco habit too.

Yup, found cough drop wrappers that my 8 yo dd ate out of the bible bag (packed for church), crayons (forbidden in the tank), lots of dirt, tons of sand (from the lake I think?) and a few odds and ends, nothing as exciting as your headset!

ugh my husband has been using the car and he always lets it get gooey! I like to clean it out once a month but since having the baby umm it could be done again :)

I just did mine today - only because it is so hot and dry here that we came out to leave for church this morning and had ants crawling all over the outside of the cars! And then we opened the doors and they were in the door jams and crawling everywhere - I finally just had to pull out the Raid and spray away to kill them all. So, that death spree I went on with the ants caused me more work in the heat by having the need to 'clean' all the Raid residue up on the interior...

the last time I gave the van a good cleaning on the inside was after our 3 week road trip this summer - I'm sure you can imagine it needed to be cleaned after that! Haven't given it a good washing on the outside in awhile though - and didn't find anything neat or interesting while I was cleaning it!

My fifteen passenger van seems always to be in need of a clean! We recently vacationed at the coast, so it needs all the sand removed! This is our working week ("vacation" from school) so after the backyard gets its attention, the van may get a visit!

Hubby and my daughter did this for me for Mother's Day. They detailed it themseleves, washed it too. I was so happy it was brand new when they came back with it! Hands down it was the best mother's day present I have ever gotten!

I think the fact that I can't remember when it was that I last cleaned the inside of my car may be a sign that I need to get cracking.

If I'm lucky I'll find Princess's missing pair of sunglasses. I had to give up a pair of mine to keep the peace.

I am so GUILTY! My car is horrible and I don't have any excuses. None. Zip. I promise to clean it soon.

Hugs!

Awesome job with the car! Its giving me motivation to do the same with my car. Ugh! I hate to see what I find in the corners and crevices!

I swear I just cleaned my car a few weeks ago, and now it looks like a few backpacks threw up in it AGAIN.
