Missing bloomers
I found about three really cute summer dresses for Boo recently.  She's a size 2T now.  Unfortunately, the dresses did not come with matching bloomers, and believe me, this girl needs them!  She's constantly climbing, rolling, and running, even in a dress.  I like the bloomers to hide her diaper.

Since the cute dresses were missing bloomers, I decided to sew my own with some solid colored material that I already had on hand.  I just had to go purchase matching thread and 1/2" elastic for the waist and legs.  I'm using a McCall's pattern, M5353.

It's slow going because I'm still a novice at reading patterns and sewing from them.  I also have to wait until the kids are in bed to do my sewing.  But, I'm getting there!  And maybe, if I get ambitious, I'll make Boo a couple of matching sun hats too.  I'll have to think about that.  She doesn't keep hats on for long.

So, what have you sewn lately?

I'll bet you're finding out, every time you sew anything at all, you learn more about the process and it's really not difficult at all. I agree about the bloomers - I like to see their little diapers covered up too. :-)

I just read about the judge's initial ruling in Boo's case. I'm thrilled for you and praying for the ruling to be upheld at the end of the appeal process. Wonderful news.

I wish I had sewn something but the last thing I used my machine for was to fix a pillowcase.

Those are so cute!! Great job!

Sewn? I know I own a sewing machine... It is somewhere... Hummm.... Now I am tempted to find it and set it up. I still have some patterns from when my girls were little and I am TIRED of crocheting beanie, afghams...winter things... ☺ I can't wait to see what the bloomers look like! Cute!
