Sweet chicks
I'm not sure if I mentioned this yet or not, but we have some new baby chicks!

Oronzo decided that getting some baby chicks would be a good thing (he had chickens when he was growing up as a kid).

At first I wasn't thrilled with having chickens.  Sure, fresh eggs are probably much better than store bought, but I wasn't sure it'd be worth the hassle.

Oronzo was determined.  He said he'd build a chicken coop for them to live in and that he'd take care of them.

So, we now have 4 chicks.  The kids adore them.  Take a look!

So, does anyone else have chickens?

No chickens here...i think it would be kind of neat to have one or two. Good luck with them.

I would love to raise chickens! I'm not sure my neighbors would appreciate it though...

We don't have chickens. My kids are pushing for some chickens, after they took care of the neighbor's chickens when they were out of town. I don't know if the husband will allow it, though.

We do! We currently have 5 Aracaunas and 4 Rhode Island Reds. They're tons of fun, and the eggs are far superior to store bought. Enjoy your little chicks! They grow up so fast...sniff sniff.

We went a few weeks ago to a local feed store, the kids and I could not decide on which ones to get, so we went back 3 hours later with daddy and they were all gone! With all of Claires hospital and doctors visits, we postponed our purchase for a little bit. Hubs has been working on a house, very similar to yours.

I can't wait to read about your progress!
