Treasure Tuesday 3
My treasure for this Tuesday is the time Snuggle Bug and his grandpa (my dad) have had together this past week.My immediate family lives in another state, many, many hours away from us. Snuggle Bug and I got back to my home state about four times last year, so we visited more frequently than I normally do and it was nice. Still, the time we had with my family was hectic and rushed.
It's been wonderful having my dad, sister, and nephew here, despite the stress of it all, because it's given Snuggle Bug the opportunity for some quality one-on-one time with them. And since it's on his turf, he's his outgoing, playful self around them, rather than feeling overwhelmed by the hordes of relatives he's usually subjected to.
I'm especially thankful for the time Snuggle Bug and my dad have had together. Of all the pictures I've taken of them this past week, this one is my favorite, because it captures the delight they've found in spending time with each other. Snuggle Bug was running around the back patio in his swim diaper, after getting out of the pool, and his grandpa called him over to look at the toys he was carrying around. Because Snuggle Bug is so light, my dad is able to lift him up onto his lap with no assistance.
I have no memories of either of my grandfathers. They both died before I was old enough to know any better and I have no pictures with them. I feel such a sense of loss because of that. I pray that my dad will be around long enough so that Snuggle Bug has a chance to get to know him. In the meantime, I'm taking a lot of pictures of them together as often as I can.
Thank goodness for grandparents and the love they have to offer!

THat is sweet. My oldest has a good relationship with my dad, although they don't see each other much. Grandpa surprised him the other day for a quick visit, the first in over a year, and it was like time hadn't passed at all for them.

Mmm. I love watching Nicholas with my Dad. It makes me very... fuzzy inside. I love my Dad and i know he loves my Son. They're gonna have too much fun. ;)
So cute! I practically grew up at my grandma and grandpa Smith's house. I am my grandpa's girl! I can't imagine not having that time! I'm glad you realize what a treasure it is for Snuggle Bug! Have a good one! (I'll try to get back on the Tuesday Treasure train next week!)
We live far away from both sets of parents, so our kids won't know their grandparents as good as I knew mine.It makes me sad. Thanx for stopping by my blog!
what a nice picture of your Dad and snugglebug....your Dad looks very happy to have snugglebug on his lap. And who wouldnt be? He is a babydoll!

Soo sweet! I love to watch my kids with their grandparents. My treasure was technically the paradise video except that I added it permanently to my blog. But if you think being K.A.A.D.D. is a treasure then I'm there, dude!
My parents live two hours away; not TOO far but too far for them to spend as much time together as I'd like.
That is just too sweet, loved it :) Mine is up too :)

Jenna- Oronzo's parents live 2 hours from us, but it seems like we see them all the time, probably because they like coming our way a lot. They have 3 grandchildren (including Snuggle Bug) that live here, so they come frequently to spoil them. It's nice. It's only my parents that live far, far away.
