Snuggle Bug update
I recently posted an update on our efforts to adopt a second time but it's been a while since I've posted an update on Snuggle Bug. I thought I'd share some pics of him while I'm at it.
Snuggle Bug is growing like a weed lately. He'll be turning 3 in December and right now he's about 28 lbs. and is roughly 35" tall. His feet have grown to a size 8 so I'm now buying size 8 1/2 winter shoes so that he has room to grow. He's moved from 24 mos to 2T clothes. One day he'll make it to 3T.
Snuggle Bug's such a smart and inquisitive little boy. He learns things quickly...well, all except for his colors, for some reason he still likes everything to be blue. His potty training is going well, at least the daytime aspect of it. He still has occasional accidents, but overall he's doing really well!
Snuggle Bug is talking up a storm. I think being in daycare (yes, he's still there because Oronzo's contract job is going longer than expected) is actually helping in this area. His interactions with other kids teach him a lot (thankfully mostly good). And he's stopped crying when we drop him off, so that's a good thing. He seems to enjoy the other kids and his teachers too. I still can't wait until he's a stay-at-home kid again, until we send him part time to pre-school.
Besides becoming a little chatter box, Snuggle Bug also sings a lot, in a sweet and clear baby voice. He loves music, painting, gardening, playing in dirt and water, baseball, and sports in general. He also seems to be drawn to pink...pink backpacks and pink sparkly shoes. Nope, Oronzo refuses to purchase any of these pink items for him, but Snuggle Bug would sure love us to!
Snuggle Bug is a handsome boy, and not just in his looks but also in his manner. His manners are coming along nicely (he says "xcuse me", "please", "dank you" and "I sorry" a lot) and his smile lights up a room! Other than an occasional stubborn fit here and there, he's such a cheerful and happy child. He's so much fun to be with! He's not particularly shy. He'll walk up to perfect strangers, especially when we're hanging out in Starbucks, and strike up a conversation with them. He effortlessly charms girls of all ages and elderly people too! He's a compassionate little boy. If he sees someone getting an "owie" he'll stop what he's doing, come over to pat you on the back, and say, "You okay?" with a concerned frown on his brow. He's generous with his kisses and hugs. Best of all, he still loves snuggling with his mama!
So, although this waiting and uncertainty with trying to adopt a second time can be nerve wracking at times, I'm reminded daily how blessed we are to have an adorable little boy in our hearts and home to fill our lives with joy and laughter.
So, here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

Hello, Dear Lady this is such a good interval. My two are around three years apart and it is such a blessing. I did not realize how perfect Gods timing would be. It will be for you too. I know the wait and the lull is so constrained at times you have such a wonderful little son to enjoy. Number tow makes it a bit more demanding on you. Enjoy these days and treasure them. They will be a blur one day.
Your son is growing so! Enjoy every moment of him you can. You'll be amazed how quickly time speeds on.
He's a cutie!
Snugglebug is just adorable. It's nice to read an update on him. I never posted to wish you well on your latest lead for #2. I hope it all works out. Sorry for missing FIF this week. I just got buried. See you next week!
What a charmer!! The time does fly, cherish each little moment!!
Blessings,
Julie
Hes adorable! They grow so fast dont they? My son is only 6 months older than yours!
What a charming fellow he is! You must be so proud. Blessings on your second adoption - may the road be smooth for all of you.
He's so cute! Sorry I haven't been around much!
Your Snuggle Bug is adorable and what a blessing for him and you that y'all have each other.
Oh... he is getting so big! I remember reading this blog when he was just a baby. =) Wow! And I love the pictures, he is a beautiful little boy. Thanks for sharing with us!
Hope you guys get news on the 2nd adoption soon.
He is really a cutie. I know he is a blessing to you and Oronzo, and it sounds like you are doing a great job raising him. I'm still praying for everything to go smoothly with #2!
I remember my 4 yr old at that age, as it was only last year, and it is so cute a stage. Lots of thank you's and please and you ok mummy.
He has now just got into caring for his little brother who is 2, so that is an even cuter stage to see.
Snuggle bug is great, enjoy all the moments as too soon he will be at school and doing so much.
So cute. My children are 12 months and 16 days apart. It was always a zoo at my house when they were little.LOL
Hugs,
Elizabeth
what a great update on snuggle bug! You know, I think his attitude/actions (compassion, politeness etc) are a result of good parenting from you and Oronzo! I hope you'll be adding another child to the household soon! Have you heard anything more from that neighbor who knows a family w/the teenager who might be giving her baby up for adoption? Has she had contact with you yet?
He is adorable. I love the coruses of "pease, than q, welcome" we get from Jillian these days. I love how one day it seems the fountain bursts and they just start chatting up a storm and a half. Fun fun fun.
Such a sweetie!
I can't wait for the next FIF - a client came into the office yesterday bringing goodies that were to die for! We're trying to get the recipe - some kind of no bake meringue thingys with choc. chips on the inside - all we got out of her was something about egg whites and you put in the oven and shut the door and leave it overnight. But it just melts in your mouth!
What a darling. :) He's got a great vocabulary too.
He is growing up so much! I remember coming here reading your birth/adoption story and now he is such a big boy! You must be so proud of your little boy!
Darling little guy.
He's soooooooooooooo darling...better have a brother or sister!
Snuggle Bug is adorable!! Thanks for sharing.
Reading and seeing your snuggle bug is making me impatient for work to get over so I can get home and see mine! Tears in my eyes just thinking about how much I love all of mine! Thanks for the update!
What a cutie. He looks so precious.
Jillian
