WFMW (Homemade Play Dough)
Happy Wednesday to you! It's time once again to post another WFMW tip!
I'm always looking for fun projects to do with Snuggle Bug (he's now 3 years old) and my Parents magazine gives me a lot of great ideas.
We've bought Snuggle Bug Playdough in the past because he loves, loves, loves playing with it. The problem is that it dries up so darned quickly if he leaves it out even for an hour or two so we've gone through a ton of Playdough over the past 2 years.
When I saw this homemade play dough recipe in my Parents magazine, I decided to give it a try. I invited one of Snuggle Bug's little friends over and we all made it together.
This play dough is amazingly soft! It still dries out over time, but it takes much longer for that to happen that the store-bought kind. I like that I know exactly what ingredients are in this play dough, in case Snuggle Bug or one of his friends decide to eat it (thankfully he's past that put-everything-in-your-mouth stage, but you never know). Best of all, the kids had a blast helping to make it!Homemade play dough works for me. ooh i love making playdough. i love the way it just comes together at the end and it's so much nicer than the stuff in the cans.
Oh I love this! I'm going to try this with my sons tomorrow. And look as those cute things they made with it.

I have made Play-Doh for my DD's pre-school. I just wish I could get over my phobia of it and allow it at home, I know I'm weird.
That reminds me I need to try this out with my son. I think he's old enough now.

I cannot stand the texture and smell of store bought stuff...Homemade is so the way to go, especially once they can help make it! Great tip!
My friend made homemade playdough with my son one day when she was watching him. I was really impressed with it!
She left it white and added blue glitter and called it snow dough. It was very fun.

What a super simple recipe! I'll have to try that. If I ever get the nerve to let Logan play with play-dough :)
This dough looks so easy. Will give it a try when our current play dough dries out!
