So, last night I had some thoughts swirling around in my brain and I thought I'd post them this morning. I have 3 objectives to this post:
1. Delurk, please- I realize that I'm starting to get a bit of a following here and I love it. Thank you! I'd like to learn a little bit more about those of you that are stopping by, if you don't mind. How did you find me? What about my blog caught your attention? What keeps you coming back for more (for those of you that have stopped by more than once)? I used to be a major lurker for months before I finally got up the courage to start my own blog, so I understand if most of you don't want to leave comments, but can you just give me a quick shout out in this post? I'd appreciate it.
2. Blog of the Week- I'm thinking of doing some kind of Blog of the Week, where I pick a blog and link it in my post, telling a bit about the blogger to entice others to check them out. Crazy Hip Blog Mamas does a Member of the Week and I really like that, but I don't want this to be a situation where you have to be nominated, I just want to pick a blog that I've stumbled across or that really tickles my fancy in some way and give that blog a plug. I think we all like having a plug now and then. So, if I pick your blog (which I'm bound to do at some point) I'll email you a few quick questions and, with your permission, post your answers and a link to your blog on my blog. What do you think? Would you play along? I'm probably not going to do this BOTW on the same day every week, but I will do it once a week.
3. Weekly Recipe Exchange- I'm in a rut with cooking the same old meals at home. I love getting new, simple recipes. So, I think I'm going to try to launch a weekly recipe exchange, every Friday. I hope you'll check back tomorrow and participate. I need help!
Well, I think that about covers it. I don't know, maybe I'm being too ambitious with these ideas, but I want to give them a try. Don't worry, I'll continue on with our adoption journey and other things going on in my life. These other things will just be little side projects to mix things up a bit.
Hope to "hear" from you!

I just found your blog yesterday, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I spent the rest of my afternoon reading through your old posts and your adoption story (instead of working). I came across your blog because it was linked to another blog that was linked to another blog that was linked to ANOTHER blog that I read everyday. Anyway, I found your adoption story to be very interesting and incredibly touching, so now I'm dying to see how it ends!
Thanks for delurking, Lara. And thanks for reading my entire blog! :) Would you care to share your blog link (if you have one) so that I can read some of your stuff?
I found your blog through a comment you had posted on someones blog..don't recall where now. I was so intrigued by your whole adoption story I have been coming back ever since. I have added you to my bloglines.
I love discovering new blogs, so I would totally enjoy your blog of the week. And would not mind participating as well. Fun stuff.
There was three things what was #3?
Oh yeah recipes...not much help there.
Hi!
How did you find me?
I found you through Treasure Tuesdays.
What about my blog caught your attention?
You're beautiful Irish wedding and your writing. I subscribed the first time I was here (that is very rare for me)
What keeps you coming back for more?
You write with depth and thought.
Great post! I'm not a lurker but what kept me coming back is your story and writing...very interesting to read!
I like your ideas too...it'll be fun to read about the BOTW and check out new blogs
I'm definitely in for the recipe exchange as well!
Do you subscribe to Kraft's Food & Family Magazine? It's free and I think they send out 4 or 6 issues a year. Great mag full of lots of easy, tasty recipes!
I found your blog through another blog. It was either Carol (SheLives) or Faith (Faithful Mommy). I was going through Tuesday Treasure links and saw yours with your rocking chair. Being very sentimental, I knew there had to be a great story of some sort to it, so I read. I checked out the rest of your blog and the Irish wedding & pics really caught my attention.
I think I commented on one of your posts & said I would be subscribing. =)
Adoption is very close to my (& my husband's) heart(s), so Snuggle Bug caught my attention. =)

Oh yeah (sorry to double comment - triple now, because I had to delete the 2nd one to make a correction. Ugh.)...I'd participate in the BOTW thing. Unfortunately, I don't have any recipes to share. My husband is a chef & so I don't cook. Sad, I know.
I am delurking to say "hi". I came to your blog last week through a link on another blog. Over the last week I have read you entire blog. You are a great writer and great mom.
I will link my blog, but trust me, there isn't much to read.
I would also be interested in an recipe exchange.
I forgot to tell you that I would participate in a weekly recipe swap if you want to get it started!
I clicked on you through Kim from Hiraeth for the first time just now. I was drawn by your profile pic. What a blessing. I am adopted and am so blessed to read adoption stories...I read a couple of your recent posts.
As for recipes I just posted a Recipe Fair this week on my blog.
God Bless,
Roberta :)
Hey! I read your blog all the time and you and I talk via email but I never comment! So I'm commenting. I love your recipe idea and I will so be on it. Keep me posted.
I found you via a comment you left on my blog, and now that I have found you - I'll have to come back and read some more... Thanks for commenting on my blog.
Hi Overwhelmed :)
You commented on my blog awhile back and I read Away to Me, The Chronicles of Munchkinland, Birthmother; Reprise, A Wrung Sponge among others!
That sounds cool! all of them! Thanks for leaving me some comments! are you going to do the dirty house thing?
When I found your blog....I read the whole thing. I love the way you articulate your thoughts...I think you are a great Mother and I just enjoy your blog. And you are welcome to ask me any questions you wish. I think the things you want to do with your blog are very interesting things and I will participate in any way that I can.Huggs.
I don't remember how I found you! Maybe a comment on another blog? I love your writing and your images, and I love to hear about your snugglebug as we await ours.
A BOTW sounds great!
I used to cook all the time, but have been a bit discouraged by my preschooler's picky eating - maybe this'll make me more adventurous again.
1. Psh, I'm not a lurker. ;)
2. I'll play. Perhaps I'll steal the idea. Hmm, nice.
3. Mmmrecipes. YAY! I <3 allrecipes.com :)
i'm a lurker! i stumbled upon your blog this past week i believe. i don't remember exactly how, but know it was from someone elses blog - either a birth/first mom or adoptee blog. i am an adoptive mom of two gorgeous daughters from china, and i've recently become obsessed w/ reading blogs from everyone in the triad. i just loved all your posts about the journey to snugglebug. we chose international adoption for various/sundry reason - decided early on it was the path for us, still, it's fascinating to read about the many paths/roads of folks involved in domestic adoption.
love the recipee idea. i don't have many great ones, but a few pretty good ones - i'm game!
no blog to share, i'm a reader, not a writer!
toni
momteacherfriend- thanks for adding me to your bloglines, I'm glad you enjoy my blog. I enjoy yours a lot too!
Kim from Hiraeth- I'm so glad you found me through TT. We have Faith to thank for that. :) Glad you enjoyed my post about our Irish wedding. It was a magical day for us!
Michelle- I know you're a regular, but thank you for your comment. Glad you like my ideas. Check back tomorrow for the first recipe exchange post. I don't subscribe to Kraft's Food & Family Magazine? I'll have to check that out!
Karla- I'm glad you found my blog because thanks to your comments I have found yours. :) It's neat to learn that adoption is close to you and your husband's hearts. And I'm jealous that your husband is a chef & you don't have to cook! :) Lucky you!
Stephanie- thanks for delurking to say "hi". I appreciate your nice comments! Thanks for linking your blog so I can check it out. Check back tomorrow for the recipe change.
Roberta- I'm glad you found me through Kim from Hiraeth. I'm always interested in reading blogs by those that have been adopted. Your perspective is important to me, so I'll be checking you out!
Sylvie- hello deal Dec/Jan Adoptions friend! Thanks for your shout out. :) I love your blog as well!
Pro-Divorce- I'm glad you like my ideas. Check back, okay?
Fantastagirl- I'll be back to read more on your blog as well. :)
Tammie- sorry to hear that you deleted your blog. Please check back tomorrow for the first round of recipe exchange!
Erin- Hi Erin. Thanks for reading my blog and mentioning me in the company of such great bloggers! :) I read all of those authors as well.
Flip Flop Mamma- thanks for stopping by! And, no, I'm afraid I won't be doing the dirty house thing? I'd rather not let viewers around the world see why I need to hire cleaning people to clean for me! :) Sorry.
Catch- After you found me, I read your blog entirely through too! Good stuff. I love the funny pictures you manage to find for your posts! Thanks for stopping by.
abebech- I'm waiting with you as you wait for your next child to arrive! Snuggle Bug is getting picky too, so I think a recipe exchange will help us both. :)
firstborn- Hooray, another card stamping addict! I've purchased so many stamps over the last 10 years that it's almost ridiculous!
We'll have to email each other examples of some of our past work. I take pictures of the ones I like.
Jenna- comments from regulars are more than welcome, thanks for shouting out! Check back tomorrow for the recipe exchange idea...you're welcome to steal whatever you'd like. I love allrecipes.com, great recipes and you can specify how many people you're cooking for to alter the measurements of the recipe! :)
toni- thanks for delurking! I'm so glad you're getting a glimpse into another avenue of adoption through my blog. I'm fascinating with learning about international adoption as well. Are you sure you don't want to start blogging to tell us more? I was a reader for a long time too and then one day decided to start writing.
Okay, I think I've responded to everyone so far. Those of you that decided to email me directly, rather than post a comment, thanks so much!
There's still a lot of you out there that haven't delurked yet (or so Sitemeter tells me). Come on, it doesn't hurt. :)
Hi, I've been a lurker for about a week now. I found your blog because it was linked to pithydithy's blog, which I found after she migrated from the labor of love, where I have a journal. I've been enjoying reading your adoption story. My little sister is in the process of adopting and I'm fascinated by the joy it can bring.
I'm late, but I love your ideas...especially for recipes...it's a light hearted and fun and easy post.
I found you through Gibee and I'm so glad I did, cause I love you story, your writing, your heart!
Thank you so much, you give me (us) so much to think about, specifically about adoption.
Happy Memorial Day, enjoy the long, easy paced weekend.
I found you through momteacherfriend. I love your ideas. I love to cook easy for my family. My son has food allergies so I have to cook healthy for him. I will be back.
I found you through some first mom or adoption blog... I don't remember which one. I always love your comments, and I am happy to see you commenting on my blog! Snuggle Bug is just a few months older than my youngest.
You have a great list of links and I jump from there quite a lot.
Looking forward to the recipes!
Hi....This is my first time here. I found you through "Welcome to my Brain".
I am a birthmom of a 18 month old angel. Your journey almost mirrors ours up to this point. Except that we went through an agency. My adoptive parents and I are very close, with a wonderful relationship.
I love you writing and how you describe the journey with Giselle and Snuggle Bug...I look forward to learning the rest of the journey.
My posts about adotion are under "Stories about Baby M" in my catagories section.
Christine- thanks for delurking! What part of the adoption process is your little sister in? You're right, adoption can bring such joy, but what I try to be sensitive to is that it also brings sorrow to others involved. Adoption is not an easy journey, but it's one I'm thankful to have been a part of.
kpjara- I'm glad you found me through Gibee. I enjoy your writing as well! Happy Memorial Day to you!
Kellie- nice to meet you, thanks for delurking! Hope you'll enjoy the Five Ingredients Friday recipes. :)
cloudscome- I do love your blog, glad you enjoy mine as well!
Tammy and Parker- Welcome! Thanks for delurking. Glad you like the recipe idea. Have you figured out the whole linking thing? :)
Beth- I'm so glad you found me! I just went and read all your posts in your "Stories about Baby M" catagories section. Wow! I really love reading about what you're going through. It helps me to understand what Giselle may be feeling too and inspires me to be sensitive to those feelings. Thank you for your honesty.
Jennifer- Better late than never, I always say. :) Thanks for delurking! I'll be posting Part 8 of our journey soon, so please check back!
Just found you today. through who? um...through hiraeth I think. the recipe thing on Fridays sounds good though I'm not sure I have many recipes with less then 5 ingredients...what can I say...I like complicated cooking! :) I"m not sure if I will be back though I do like what I have read so far. I just need to watch my hours in the day...can't spend them all reading blogs fun as that is.
oh..forgot to mention..i like that blog of the week idea.. i might use it in my blog because there are some out there I really like. Thanks for the thought.
I can't remember when I started reading your blog, or how I found you (I'm sure you must have commented on a blog I regularly read or something). I am an [adoptive] mom to two toddlers who are a little older than Snuggle Bug, both in open domestic adoptions. I love to read about other people's adoption experiences. Thanks for sharing! :)
