Look what Snuggle Bug can do!
In December, we bought Snuggle Bug a bike for his 2nd birthday. Oronzo took it home, put it together, and then Snuggle Bug hopped on. He was so excited!

Unfortunately, his little legs couldn't reach the pedals. Oronzo tried to tape wooden blocks on to give Snuggle Bug some extra height, but that didn't work. Being pushed on his bike by Mommy or Daddy was fun for Snuggle Bug, but not fun for Mommy or Daddy!

Yesterday afternoon, Snuggle Bug and I were outside playing. I saw his tricycle in the driveway and asked him if he wanted to ride it. "Yesth" was his prompt reply! I figured I'd push him around the block once and call it good.

Snuggle Bug climbed on his tricycle, put his feet to the pedals, and to much to my amazement he pedaled and the tricycle moved a bit! I wasn't helping him. His feet actually now reach the pedals, proof positive that he's grown since December!

I laughed and cheered him on! He grinned and pedaled some more. He was only able to go short distances on his own (except for the times when he was pedaling downhill, that was much more effective) but he was so proud and excited that he was riding his bike all by himself!

This is yet another moment when I'm reminded that my baby is growing up quickly! This time, I was grinning from ear to ear with pride at his accomplishment!

And of course, I did what any good modern-day mommy would do. I took these pictures on the fly with my cell phone camera!

So sweet! We got The Boy a bike for Easter..... er, rather the Easter bunny did. And it was so fun to watch him master this new skill (and the downhill thing is the way to go... especially with a not-so-steep incline).

Yeah for Snuggle Boy! What a big boy! Devyn still hasn't figured out how to ride her tricycle yet. I just LOVE the photos of this happy milestone!

He is just too precious for words. Those are the moments that make a day totally complete.

And...what did we do before cell phone cameras???

Oh my word, how could you NOT post these photos. Precious. And it seems like I'm amazed on a daily basis how fast they really grow. Cameron's only six months younger than Snuggle Bug. His trike awaits - right now it has long handles on it so we can push him but I expect his little feet to reach the pedals any day now. How fun!

TOO TOO TOO cute!
But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get that child a bike helmet right now and don't let him trike without it. Using the helmet right from the start gets the kids to take using a helmet for granted. You don't bike without a helmet.
My father is alive and well after many, many falls off bicycles (he bikes long-distance) including direct hits of head on guardrails, because he always wears a helmet.
So please get a helmet so you can keep your cutie as safe as can be!

So sweet. How exciting for him and for you. It's always amazing when I realize just how much my baby has grown. Like when he pulled on a part of pants and he was clearly "waiting for a flood." ;-)

Praying for your ongoing adoption process.

My son (now 14.8) did the same thing when he was younger. He used to run around the kitchen running under the kitchen table. There was that dreaded day when he ran under the table and hit his head. It smack dabbed him to the floor. He was so angry at mommy and daddy for not noticing that he had grown.

OOPS!

Our son almost 15 now laps me in height. I am 5'8". I went to the middle school yesterday to pick up his sister. School is only 1.5 miles away.

When I got home he told me that he had heated up the large Pizza sitting on the counter. It was good. He asked me what was for dinner?!

I told him that I would need to think about it. I had planned on the family having pizza...I had to think because it WAS the LARGE PIZZA that he had just polished off.

Congrats to your son and BOY ARE YOU IN TROUBLE NOW! Enjoy.
