WFMW (making your own hair bows)
Happy Wednesday to you! It's time once again to post another WFMW tip!
I don't know about you but as much as I love participating in this WFMW exchange, sometimes I can't think of any decent ideas. So, unless Shannon requests a specific theme, I've decided to focus my efforts on offering craft ideas. And I'd love it if you'd leave me a comment with some craft ideas of your own!
This week I'm not sharing a craft idea to do with your kid, but rather for your kid.
Now that we have two little foster daughters I've decided to figure out how to make my own hair bows. Purchasing them pre-made can become quite expensive.
I've found several fantastic websites that offer illustrated instructions on how to make your own hair bows. I'll list them here and let you peruse them at your leisure:
Girly Things
Elegance in Bloom
The Ribbon Retreat
Creating my own bow clips works for me. To find out what works for others, be sure to check out the other links at Shannon's, the creator of Works-For-Me Wednesday!

thanks - i'll have to check those out!
I have been wanting to figure out how to do this. Thanks for the links!!
Thanks for sharing, it didn't look to difficult.
I love girly things, I posted on them last week! I love the ballerina tutu hair bow holder. Claire wants bows in every color and we just can't afford to pay the $8.00 a bow, so I had to learn how to make my own, it is easy to do and in the long run it saves you lots of time (running to and from stores) and of course money!
Your foster daughters will look very snazzy in their new bows especially boo since she has all that hair!
Very cute. I think I can, I think I can! I'm going to try to make one. Thanks.
Thanks for posting these links! I had looked online about a year ago for instructions on how to make bows, and all I could find were tutorials for a fee.
Aren't those pictures of Ireland in your sidebar? And isn't there one of the Blue Door restaurant in Adare? My husband and I went to Ireland on our honeymoon nine years ago and stayed at Adare Manor and ate dinner one night at the Blue Door. I hope to go back to Ireland someday . . . It is so beautiful!
Thanks! My daughter is just getting hair long enough for bows, but I can't believe how expensive they can be.
Neat.. Thanks for the links.. Have a great evening!
I've got two little girls! I'll definitely want to check these out!
i think posting craft ideas is a great idea! i wish I had little girls to make these for - right now all the little ones in my life are boys - oh, wait - my daughters friend is expecting a baby girl in march - goodie, goodie, goodie...
Thank you! I was looking up how to make hair bows for my twin 2 1/2 year old daughters and came across your page and you had 3 wonder websites available. I agree hair bows are expensive and I have a very hard time finding cute big fluffy bows not just the small 1/2 inch clips. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!
