Deploying to Edwards Air Force Base
I'm heading off to Edwards AFB today.  I'll be there on business for two weeks, through 25 July!  I'll have access to email and the internet while I'm in my hotel in Lancaster, CA but not during my time on base.

Oronzo is going to be caring for the kids solo in my absence, expect for the few days that he's going to spend with his parents at their home in another town.  They've offered to help him with the kids if he can come to them.  Thankfully his work allows him to work anywhere that has internet access, fax capability, and FedEx service so he's going to take them up on their offer.

So, are there any bloggers in the Lancaster or surrounding area?  Just curious.

You're headed to our old stomping grounds! We used to live in Palmdale.
In fact, I was raised in Santa Clarita, which is about 45 min south on the 14. There's a great mall there now you should visit. If you get a chance, get by Tommy's for a chiliburger and chili fries. If you're enticed and drolling, I'll give you directions. Well, worth the drive. Also, for awesome Mexican food, there's a little dive in Castaic that has the best chili rellenos. I think it's too late now, but he poppy fields may still be in bloom in Lancaster. It's an amazing site!

Oh, good luck to both you and the family at home. That's going to be tough.

My parents live in Lancaster! I hope you enjoy your trip! It is hot there right now, and it's almost always windy. It is also BROWN (I guess deserts are usually that way). The mountains look pretty in the distance though.

Hope you enjoy visiting the base. It's pretty neat. They have a museum there that you can visit if you have time.
