Five Ingredient Friday (Fudge Frosting)
It's time again for my Five Ingredients Friday recipe exchange! Thank you all who participate on a regular basis. Hopefully we'll get some newcomers as well!
If you read my post from yesterday you'll understand why I could use a pick-me up from one of my favorite ingredients, chocolate! Therefore, my Five Ingredients Friday recipe this week is one that I've made several times and will probably make again this weekend. It's absolutely delicious! I've used it on cakes, brownies, and even ice cream! It's oh so good when it's gooey and warm! Enjoy!
Fudge Frosting
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup Hershey's Cocoa
3 2/3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation:
In small saucepan over low heat, melt butter.
Add cocoa; stir constantly just until mixture begins to boil.
Remove from heat; pour into small mixer bowl.
Add powdered sugar alternately with milk, beating to spreading consistency.
Blend in vanilla.
Spread frosting while warm.
Yield: About 2-1/4 cups frosting.
Variation:
I look forward to seeing your Five Ingredients Friday recipe! Don't forget to link your blog on this post so I can see what's cooking at your house!

I learned that one from my mom. My daughter learned it from me. Only difference; my mom used half Crisco and half butter and creamed them in instead of melting the butter. I do it the same way.
this sounds delicious...I always make homemade frosting when I make a cake......Ive never had this recipe though....its not fattening right???????? lol
Well, now I want to make a cake!
OMGosh! That picture alone makes me hungry!! I love chocolate...I love fudge...I love chocolate, oh wait, I already said that, well, I love chocolate!!
Mmm...sounds wonderful! I linked to a recipe I posted on my blog last week: Raspberry Swiss Grilled Cheese.
this sounds devine! mmm...what a yummy topping for just about any dessert! LOL
I'm so sorry for the loss that your family is suffering through.
I wholeheartedly support the use of chocolate in times like these.
The recipes sound great. I'll have to see what I can come up with, it sound like a lot of fun.
Now THIS sounds like fun!. I think I may join this party. And I have to commend you on making something that's already decadent (ice ream) even MORE decadent. Funny you!
OJ, I can find the white chocolate pudding at all the grocery stores in my area. Jello brand. If you can't find it you CAN make the salad with vanilla pudding but it just isn't as good. There's something about the white chocolate with the cream cheese...Num.
Yum, i love chocolate too!! I'll have to make a cake to put the frosting on! I've posted my recipe a little late, but it's a good one for a summer drink.
Thanks for your comment today. As soon as I can figure out how to measure instead of dump, I'll post something.
I knew it! I knew if I posted the cheddar bay biscuits someone would have posted it before me. You have to forgive me though because I just jumped on to your fun recipe exchange today and didn't know. I've already gotten one comment for someone who said she loves them and didn't have the recipe so I guess it's OK I unknowingly stole your post. I can't even remember where I found the recipe. One version of it is on allrecipes.com. Maybe between now and next Friday I'll find time to go through all the posts and see what everyone's posted before. Sorry. :-)
Yummy... I may have to try this one for DH's birthday next week!
Mine doesn't count this week. It's my five year old's instead :)
I had a lot of fun with this today. And a lot of people who I go back and forth with were impressed with this idea of simple recipes. I'm going back over to Brenda's place to thank her for leading me here. So many new things to try!
