Fall is in the air!
Fall is in the air, can you feel it? Can you smell it? I can, despite the fact that my calendar says that autumn doesn't officially begin until this Friday.

Fall is absolutely my favorite season of the year. It evokes memories of my college days, wearing a sweatshirt and shorts, standing in the stadium bleachers to cheer our team on to victory during football Saturdays , cozying up with my favorite guy and a cup of hot chocolate.

If only the fall season wasn't so short! I wish it could last 6 months out of the year! I love the brilliant colors of the changing leaves, the crackle of them under my feet. I love the crisp air filling my lungs, cool and clean. I love putting flannel sheets on the bed and piling on more blankets. I love wearing thick warm socks and flannel pajamas around the house!

Some of you may remember me posting earlier this past June about taking Snuggle Bug to outdoor concerts in the park. Well, the fall session of this has begun and this past Sunday Oronzo and I packed up our gear and took Snuggle Bug once again. He had a blast, as he always does, and we did too. I was prepared with a spare blanket to snuggle up in because the air is turning chilly in the evenings now, but do you think I could get Snuggle Bug to snuggle with me? No way, he was too busy frolicking and playing with 3 other small kids on a blanket near ours. I have a cute picture of Snuggle Bug at the concert to share but I'll have to insert it later today, it's at home and I'm at work.

This fall we'll not only be attending outdoor concerts in the park, but we're also going to go apple picking this weekend, then pumpkin picking before Halloween. Of course, there will be trick or treating. Our house will be saturated with the delicious aromas of baked goodies in my oven, pine and cedar logs crackling in the fireplace, and spiced apple cider simmering on the stove. We'll take bike rides and walks in our neighborhood, bundling up in jackets to keep warm in the cool air. Snuggle Bug will love being in his Red Flyer wagon again (he likes it better in the fall for some reason).

So, what are some of your favorite things about fall?

Oooooh, we are sharing a brain today!!! I absolutely LOVE the fall as well!!! It has been my favorite season for as long as I can remember. You coined it in many ways: the smells, the cozy clothes, the fires, the baking, the snuggling under extra blankets.
We deep clean our house in the fall in preparation for the winter and we re-arrange our family room furniture to provide for a cozy sitting area by the fireplace. It is truly wonderful. I have been looking forward to it for weeks but I don't think we'll get to it for another couple weeks.
While the calendar says that fall starts on the 23rd, we really don't have any leaves change until the middle of October. The temps did drop this week though, so I am enjoying the crispness with open windows!
Enjoy your fall day!

I love fall which is really strange because we don't actually have a fall here in Corpus. We do have a pumpkin patch at a local church (pumpkins shipped in of course)which I always take my kids to for pictures. I love burning my fall scented candles and decorating. My favorite thing is going to my in-laws every year to trick or treat in their neighborhood. Even though we live an hour and a half away, it is a tradition we have kept since my daughter Ashley was born 12 years ago. The kids love passing out candy and seeing their grandma, grandpa, and their cousins. If I get to wear a sweater during fall, that is just an added bonus!

hmmm I love the fall, but have missed it for the last 10 years in Florida.
I loved the colors of the leaves changing, the sweaters, the hot cider w/cinnamon, the soups, the cool clean air, just everything there is to miss about fall I DO!

Ah, I just posted on this for my Thursday Thirteen last week - the changing colors, apple cider and donuts, football and new fall shows coming on, and our anniversary!

Delightfully cooler crisp air, that just envelopes you with a renewed sense of wonder in anticipation of the upcoming holidays, family gatherings, the aroma of homemade pumpkin pie, and children trick-or-treating. Then of course, we all love to get together on Sundays and watch our Bucs, who are 0 and 2., sadly to say. Never the less, we love cheering them on with all our loved ones laughing and ribbing one another, and so on...:)

my favorite thing about Fall is the leaves crackleing under my feet, the feel of the crisp cool air, sitting on my deck with a magazine reading. and Halloween when my neighbor and I stand outside and pass out candy to the little ones. Baking an apple pie and smelling it through out the house. I love Fall, and I even love winter....but wish it wasnt so cold!

I've been thinking of all these things today. Although, fall doesn't seem to last long enough for me, it is my favorite season as well. The brilliant colors don't last nearly long enough around here! I love when it gets cool enough to wear jeans and sweaters even my girls' fall clothes are my favorites! And I love so many of the things you mentioned, apple picking (probably this weekend), the pumpkin patch next month, hayrides, Boo in the Zoo with our girls, the cool weather to take walks or go to the park, all kinds of fun fall things to do!!!

Hey there. I loved the mexico pictorial! Snuggle bug is such a cutie and what a ladies man he is! Fall is my favorite season too. I like the chill in the air and I love pulling out all my jeans and woolly sweaters. Not to mention it means Thanksgiving is right around the corner!

That tree is spectacular. We're no where no into fall here. Still very HOT!
But fall truly is my favorite time of year as well. Seems there's more family togetherness, fun activities, and comfort food meals!

I love the crunch of leaves, the smell of people still bar-b-cuing, the crispness of the air, being able to wear sweaters and cute hats, and all the wonderful colors!

I love pumpkins, baking goodies like pumpkin pie and cookies, shopping for the holidays, bean and ham soup with corn bread. I love my sons football games and I take along a thermos of hot cocoa, and there is always that wonderful feeling of the upcoming holidays in the air.

I am with you, my favorite time of the year!

My favorites? COOL, crisp air, crackling leaves, needing a sweatshirt, sitting on the front porch and looking at the trees. And I'm with you: I'd love it if fall lasted 6 months a year. It's the best season (don't tell the other seasons I said that - I wouldn't want for them to feel left out). :-)

I too LOVE the fall. Eric and I got married in the fall so it always reminds me of our special day:) I love it for all the same reasons you do... the aromas, the crisp air, the cozy feel of a warm blanket. We go apple picking and to a fall fest as a family. Such great memories to make.

I really enjoy fall time too...not too hot, not too cold! I like pulling my sweatshirts out of storage (makes me feel like I have a new wardrobe!) I like drinking the hot teas, chocolate and ciders. I especially love the change of color in the leaves!

I adore Fall in Canada. Here in Southern California, it is not the same. But I love the smells and the colours. Reading your post totally made me smile and miss home!

I love the colors, the loamy smell of the fallen leaves. I love the slight hint of a chill in the air.

Thanks for stopping bye my blog and your comments on my son's school bus experience. He is doing fine now, although he has an asigned seat behind the driver.
