"Unbroken" Book Giveaway- Sign up now!
Anne, with Author's On the Web, sent me another book for review. This book, Unbroken, is by Tracey Elliott, Mrs. Texas 2006.

Unbroken shares details of Tracey Elliot's troubled childhood. Orphaned at the age of 6, she was sent to live with her grandmother and her grown, unemployed alcoholic uncles.

The story tells of the abuse she suffered at the hands of her uncles, and her spiral into alcohol, drugs, and eventually stripping.

Without sharing all the details, the book tells of how her life was put back together by the power and redemption of God and the love of her husband and children. It also shares interesting details of her month spent in rehab before she went on to win the title of Mrs. Texas in 2006.

To be honest, I though this book was "okay." It wasn't bad, but it wasn't phenomenal either (you know, the kind of book you just can't put down). Perhaps I feel this way because I couldn't relate to much of what Tracey had experienced. I just couldn't empathize enough. Perhaps you might find this book more compelling!

The cover price of this book is $22.99. Amazon is selling it for the discounted price of $17.93.

Anne was kind enough to send me two additional copies of each book to offer as giveaways to my readers! Thanks, Anne!

So, do you want one of these books for FREE? If you do, follow the simple instructions below. You've got 5 days to enter the drawing! When the time comes, I'll throw the names in a hat and have Snuggle Bug pick out 2 winners.

Here is what you do:

1. On your blog, write a post about this giveaway and then link back to my giveaway post. I am sure your readers would appreciate learning about the chance to win a book. You must complete this step to be put in the drawing!

2. Sign the Mr. Linky (the Mr. Linky is that list of names at the end of this post - just type your name in the box) with your name and URL by end of day on Saturday, May 5th. Note: If you are not a blogger, you may still enter. Just sign your name on the Mr. Linky without a URL and then email me your contact information. Please note on your email that it is for the Tracey Elliott book giveaway.

I'll announce the winners this coming Sunday morning.

Best of luck!

If I'm fortunate enough to win, I'll get back with you and tell you what I think of the book. I love to read, so bring it on!

I don't have a URL, so can't leave one, so I guess I have to be anonymous. Since I am not a blogger, your note says to e-mail you, but I can't find your e-mail address. Help!

Love your Cracking the Kid Code post. Sometimes, I can't understand my 1-year old. He gets frustrated so he calls me a "dodo."

My 4-year old is different.

"Mommy," he one time asked my wife. "Do you know what melan moposis is?"

"A what?" my wife said.

"Melan moposis."

"What's that?"

"Daddy taught me that word," my 4-year old said. "It means a caterpillar becomes a butterfly."

A proud moment for me.

Thanks for the opportunity to win this book; it's one I've been wanting to read.

Also, please delete entry #7 on my behalf. I typed my blog address incorrectly on that one.

Thanks!
