Overwhelmed with choices!
You know, two months ago I had a "Name that Business" contest and all your suggestions got my creative juices flowing and I came up with a name. Nope, I can't reveal it yet because I'm worried if I do someone might be tempted to snatch the name and use it themselves before I can get a website and logo designed (I know, I'm paranoid).

But here's the problem I'm having. I'm searching out there for an inexpensive but nice web-hosting and web design for my business (I can't spend a lot of money on this because I don't have a lot of money to spend) and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with choices. Most of these choices are way out of my price range!

So, I thought that perhaps I could appeal to all of you out there to help me find an inexpensive, reliable web host and, even more important, maybe one of my creative and talented readers could cut me a deal on a pretty & whimsical web design for my jewelry business. I can't pay you much but I could make you a nice jewelry set and I would sing your praises from the rooftops to anyone who would listen and prominently advertise your web design company on my website.

Any takers? Leave me a comment or feel free to email me. If you're emailing me, I don't want your email getting lost in the pile-o-spam that I get each day so just put "Web Design Idea" in the subject line of your message.

Thanks for your help! You all are wonderful!

By the way, don't miss my Fall, Y'all bloggy giveaway for a chance to win a pretty, beaded bookmark!

I wish I could help but I don't know much about any of this stuff!

I can't wait to see the new site though!

I told my daughter about this. She may email you. She told me Dreamhost is pretty cheap. I think that is what our kampkinship.org site in hosted on.

Congratulations on finally selecting a name. I can't wait to see your site when you are up and running!

Hugs!

No worries -- I suffer from the same brand of paranoia :)

I have my own domain from GoDaddy.com and use prettyladyhosting.com for my host. There's link to the latter from my blog. It's very reasonable!! Tamara from traininghearts.com did my template. I won mine but she might be willing to do one for a fee. There's lots of prizes that are blogs going on now too. Good luck.

I built my own from scratch using blogger. If you can make your own buttons, you can do it, but I have to warn you, it took me almost a full week of working on it several hours a day.

Here's a clip from an email to me from Amanda from Simply Sweet Bowtique when I asked her the same thing...

----

I pay $21 every 3 months. I signed up through yahoo small business for my domain name and it cost $1.99 the first year and $8.99 every year after. I love wahmshoppes.com ...After playing around a bit it is really easy and adding product is super easy too.

I know how to make my own templates, but when I switched over to wahmshoppes I was in such a hurry that I bought a premade template here:

http://ashlynwebdesign.com/

She has some great budget templates for only $20.

She also will set up your whole website for you and all you have to do is put in your products.

---

Hope that helps! (I came over here thinking that you needed to find a new clever name so ignore my other comment, but don't ignore that I want to enter your contest! :-)

Oh, and do you have a paypal account? They have some GREAT options for collecting money. It's 30 cents plus 2-3% per transaction, but then you can accept credit cards and not have to mess with anything.

This whole web business can be overwhelming, but it's fun too.

Congrats on starting your own business!!
For web hosting- you could try http://hostingwithus.com/?affid=swinder and it starts at 5.95/month.
This is from my own business - http://ld.net/?swinder
You could try and design your own site through here: http://www.webmaxstudio.com/?tid=swinder It's really easy but the price per month is a bit more- 18.95/mo
Either way, I'm sure you'll find a service that'll suit your needs and your budget. And there are tons of talented moms that can design.

WWW.hostek.com by far. My hubby (web developer) and I have used Hostek for our clients sites as well as our own. It's $5.oo/month for a site. THey are super great at communication. We have used them for over 7 years!
