Active Family
Oronzo and I are doing our best to be an active family, to set a good example for Snuggle Bug. We don't watch a lot of T.V., our T.V. viewing is usually done in the evenings after Snuggle Bug has gone to bed. And, more importantly, we try to spend a lot of time outdoors.

Oronzo is, by far, more active than I am and he's in a lot better shape! He hikes, he bikes, he plays Ultimate, he plays tennis, and he walks a lot. Me, I do hike and bike and walk, on occasion, but not nearly enough. I'm trying to improve.

Not long ago, Oronzo went out and bought a bike carrier and a kids helmet so that he could take Snuggle Bug biking with him. Snuggle Bug loves biking with Daddy!

This past weekend, we went to a local bike shop and bought me a new bike. We hadn't intended on buying one right away, we were going to shop around and compare prices but we found one that was on clearance because it was a discontinued model. We got a really nice deal on it! I love it because it's got a quick release seat, making adjusting oh so easy! It also has quick release tires which allowed us to break the bike down and fit it in our car trunk with ease to get it home. And because we bought it at a real bike shop, I get free tune-ups on my bike whenever I want.

I love my new bike! It's comfortable and it suits me. It's much nicer than the previous bike I had, a poor quality bike that I bought years ago at Wal-Mart because it was cheap.

This morning, I convinced Oronzo to get up by 7 a.m. (he's not a morning person by nature and I am) so that the three of us could take a quick bike ride before I had to go to work and before it got too hot. Granted, we only went about a mile each way and we treated ourselves to Starbucks so we probably didn't burn many calories, but it was a lot of fun! I'm going to do my best to incorporate biking into a regular routine to get into better shape!

So, what do you and your family do to try to stay active and healthy?

Wow, I am impressed! I wish I had the self discipline to be more active! You sure Oronzo isn't part Dutch with his love for biking? ;)

SnuggleBug looks SO cute on the back of Daddy's bike!

I fear all the activity we have is either walking on the beach, or visiting the playground. Would be way to scared to go cycling around here. Paddy bought me a great bike for my birthday but we ended up giving it to his mam because I didn't have the nerve to go cycling here!

Have a great day!

PS: The parcel is FINALLY on it's way to you!

What a great idea to bike in the morning! Hope you have lots of fun with your new bike!

My husband jogs about 3 days a week very early in the morning. I try to do aerobics with a video, but it hasn't happened much lately. I need to get better at it. My girls get lots of excercise riding their bikes, playing on our swing set and just running around outside. We too don't watch much TV at all.

That is awesome!! Jon and I have really wanted to splurge on bikes too, we know that it would really help us get off our butts and do something productive. Soon, I hope! Have fun with the new bike, I'm soooo jealous!!

You guys sound like us! Joe is the more active one, even though I tell myself I will be LOL

We do take evening walks (Kayla loves to go outside for a walk) but the darn mosquitos have been so bad lately. We also have a bike trailer so we've been riding together too. Kayla loves to put on her "hat" (Helmet)

A couple of new bikes were our first purchases with our wedding gift money 5 years ago. We love the bikes, but we've been so busy and on "treatment" for a few years. We definitely look forward to it when our child comes into the picture! Or sooner if our schedule lightens up.

Happy biking!

I so wanted to get a bike and bike with Becca, however the area we live in is so not bike friendly!!

We hike a lot and swim! We are trying to be more active and be positive role models too!

OW, I am so impressed that you all have taken up such an ambitious sport that little Snuggle Bug can join in with as well. I loved your new video too. Can't wait to see more...he is so cute the way he toddles around! (((smile)))
