Works-for-Me Wednesday (alternate use for pot rack)
It's time to post another WFMW tip.

We bought a new house last summer and when we moved in, we realized that we had more than enough cupboard space to store our pots and pans. I wasn't quite sure what to do with the pot rack that we had been using up until then.

It dawned on me that it'd be nice to have some hooks out by the pool, to hang up various items (i.e. swim trunks, towels, pool toys in a basket). So, I tacked up the pot rack to the side of an exterior wall near the pool to be used for this express purpose!

This works for me. Maybe it'll work for you too!

If you'd like to share something that works for you, please leave me a comment. And be sure to link yourself over at Shannon's, the host of Works-For-Me Wednesday.

If thats what the outside of your house looks like the inside must be gorgeous. I love the idea, it would also be great to hang potted plants from it, although I don't know how exactly.

What a great idea and way to use what you already have. Now I just gotta get me a pool and a house!

that is a good idea...then the towels will actually dry....they aren't laying up against the wall but actually airing out!

Good idea!

Now THAT's a great idea! I wonder how it would work on my fence in my garden.

Ooo, I bet you could use one in the bathroom as well. With 6 people in the family (3 kids and 3 adults--my brother-in-law lives with us) there never seems to be enough hanging space in our bathroom.

What a great idea, I never would have thought to use a potrack outside....awesome :)

Very cool! I can imagine all sorts of outdoor uses for the rack - gardening tools, hanging baskets, wind chimes...Very clever!

Fun and creative tip!

Just noticed your categories. You need to do a WFMW on how you do them. I haven't seen them done that way before. Is it easy. The way I do mine takes forever.

Wonderful idea! We just purchased a pot rack (unfortunately, I have very little cupboard space). If we move though, I will have a new function for it!! Thanks!

Hooks by the pool! That makes total sense! Thanks!

OK. Out by the pool? You have a pool? Sigh...

Since I don't, well this won't work. However, it WILL work in the garage somewhere. All those brooms and sweepers and things that have the little hook on the end - what a great idea for hanging them up.

You have a pool? Sigh....

Hi OW!! I love this idea! I think that it looks very cute as well....is it in a sunny spot? We like our towels to get toasty when we are swimming so we lay them in the sun!
This would be awesome!

Very clever!! I read an article once about this lady who goes antiquin' and uses the things she buys in different ways than they were meant for. You reminded me of that.

I almost passed out at the words "more than enough cupboard space"--that alone makes it worth having my house on the market, just hoping that I'll get a house with an adequate kitchen!

This is a great idea:)

More than enough cupboard space... Do those words even belong in the same sentence?

Very clever! I love things like this. I am currently working on a hat/coat rack out of Elk Antlers. I sure wish I was more talented ;o

What a fabulous idea!!! I'm saving this one in case we ever get a pool.

Could also be very useful for hanging garden implements near the potting bench.

I have that same potrack! I am going to spray paint mine white and hang it over Shaylee's bed, with some sheer fabric and use it as decoration. Kinda like those mesh canopys they sell at Pier 1 imports.

Thank you for visiting my blog. :) I like this idea...now I just need more cabinet space, actually I'd rather have the pool. :) He hee! I will save this idea for the day. :)

Great idea!!! You could also hang a black three tiered wire fruit basket instead of that plastic one so you'd have even more room for swimming goodies.
