Counting to 10
My 21 month old "baby" counted to 10 today for the first time! Can you believe it?!Oronzo and I were outside playing with Snuggle Bug earlier this evening. Oronzo was swinging him high up in his arms, counting each time up to five. Snuggle Bug was counting too and when Oronzo stopped swinging him, he said, "more!"
As Oronzo continued to swing him, they counted up to six and then up to seven. Then Snuggle Bug started counting higher and Oronzo stopped counting with him to see how high he'd go on his own.
He counted aloud, "One, two, twee, foe, fife, sis, sevn, neight, nine, ten."
We couldn't believe what we were hearing. Until that moment, we'd never heard him count higher than four! Suddenly he was counting to 10 in the right order and without missing a single number!
We asked him to do it two more times, just to make sure it wasn't just a fluke. Each additional time he counted accurately to 10.
I guess all the counting books we read to him, that go up to 10, truly make a difference! How neat is that?! :)

Putting away the bottle and counting to ten. What a wonderful, bittersweet moment. Sounds like you're doing a great parenting job.

Ahhh, I love these moments of "firsts".
Y'all sound like us when it comes to parenting. We read to our kids constantly, and everything we do, including throwing a kid in the air for fun, has some type of educational aspect to it - without them even knowing we are 'teaching' them!!!
