Book Giveaway- Sign up now!
I just read an excellent book that a friend from work gave to me and I want to pay it forward by sending this book to one of my faithful readers.
The book I'm speaking of is The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards.
This stunning novel begins on a winter night in 1964, when a blizzard forces Dr. David Henry to deliver his own twins.
His son, born first, is perfectly healthy, but the doctor immediately recognizes that his daughter has Down syndrome.
For motives he tells himself are good, he makes a split-second decision that will haunt all their lives forever. He asks his nurse, Caroline, to take the baby away to an institution. Instead, she disappears into another city to raise the child as her own.
Compulsively readable and deeply moving, The Memory Keeper's Daughter is a brilliantly crafted story of parallel lives, familial secrets, and the redemptive power of love.

I read this one awhile ago, and while it's hard, I've been thinking of who I might pass it along to as well!
To answer your question to me about the book - yes I have read it! :) I did enjoy the book (emotional in some places) but overall a great read. I wish I could have "seen" more into Phoebe's future and her relationship with (oops, guess I shouldn't say too much in your comments so I don't give anything away to those who haven't read it yet!)
It would be nice to have a sequel to this book and follow Phoebe and I'll leave it at that :)
A friend from work recently loaned this book to me. I enjoyed it very much.
I haven't read that book yet - so I'm entering your contest! Great idea!
Ok I would love to read this, I will try and do the link thing but I am terrible at all that stuff LOL.
(P.S. The scrap page you saw on my site was done by a friend. I meant to put that on there somewhere and forgot. I also wish I had an iota of talent that she has, I haven't ever scrapped before.)
WellI tried to link in my post to no avail, sigh one day I will get it ;-)
I'd heard of this book, but unfortunately I just couldn't remember its name when I went to the bookstore. After reading the blurb, I realized - this is it! Count me in. I've wanted to read this for a long time.
Me! Me! Pick me!! I'm being very childish, I know. But it does sound really good. My link is up.
As the mom of a special needs daughter, this book sounds very interesting. Thanks for being willing to share.
Came over from Joyful Days for the book giveaway (and yes, I'd love to be entered in your giveaway)...but I'll be back because of the beauty I see here. Looking forward to future visits.

That looks really good. Coolness!
I'll post about your giveaway on my blog, but I don't need to have my name in the hat. I read the book not long ago and have passed my copy to a friend. It is a definitely page-turner!
Thanks for lettinig me know you got my name for the drawing. I am hoping to win, but I will not be able to check on Sat a.m. I am leaving tomorrow and will be gone until July 14. Nice idea - think I might run a similar contest one day - not ready to part with my books just yet (smile).
The post is up on my blog.
I followed a link from Real Women Scrap and am glad I did. That definately sounds like an intriguing book. I love to read & have since I was a little girl. There is nothing better than curling up with a good book to forget about your troubles, or the perfect end to a perfect day, to relax or whatever reading a good book is the best for any reason. I'll keep checking back. Thanks for the chance to win an awesome read!
