Five Ingredients Friday (BBQ Ribs)

It's Friday again and I'm off with my little family for a mini-vacation. I wanted to make sure to publish my regularly scheduled Five Ingredients Friday post before I leave and let my guest bloggers take over.

Most of you know by now that I love crockpot recipes. We received a 6 qt. crock pot as a wedding gift and we love to use it!

My Five Ingredients Friday recipe for this week is a family favorite!

Sweet BBQ Crockpot Ribs

Ingredients
  1. 3-1/2 lbs. pork loin back ribs
  2. 1/2 tsp. salt
  3. 1/4 tsp. pepper
  4. 1/2 cup cola beverage
  5. 2/3 cup barbecue sauce

Preparation
  1. Cut ribs into 2 or 3 rib portions and place in slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and pour cola over.
  3. Cover crockpot and cook on low for 8-9 hours until the ribs are tender.
  4. Drain liquid and discard.
I look forward to seeing your Five Ingredients Friday recipe! Don't forget to link your blog on this post so I can see what's cooking at your house! Oh, and be sure to put in parenthesis your recipe title! It makes it so much quicker for me to go back and search for recipes as I build my weekly menu.

Have a safe and fun Labor day weekend!

I've never made ribs before because i thought they had to be smoked in a smoker all day. This seems easy though.

Sounds easy and delicious. My mom uses cola on her ham, but I never thought to use it for ribs. I will pass this idea along. Thanks!!

Yummy, I love Ribs!!! but my hubby doesn't so I don't make them that often. I'll have to give it a try in the crockpot....

DH loves ribs, but I never made them because I thought they were too labor intensive. I found out I was wrong this summer with another recipe. This one looks even easier! I'll definitely be trying it. Enjoy your trip!

I love crock pot recipes too! If I would have seen this this morning before I left for the commissary I would have picked up some ribs! I'll get them next time, because these sounds great!

My grandpa's absolute favorite is ribs, and he's SUCH a picky eater..but I know he'd love these. And they sound so simple to make. Thanks for the recipe! =)

This sounds so easy! I'm here in Texas cooking for new parents, so this may get added to the list. They love bbq, so it sounds perfect. My recipe for Blackberry Cobbler is up.

I've seen some great recipes using cola. We love ribs and I love anything that cooks in my crockpot so this one's a keeper!

I'm late getting mine out and it cracked me up that Bev's late too, us being sisters and all. And then it REALLY cracked me up that her recipe is for cobbler, too. Thank goodness we used different fruit!

Am I missing something, when do you put the bbq sauce in, with the cola? I want to make this tomorrow, thanks!
