Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
Snuggle Bug is a typical toddler who likes to imitate everything that Oronzo and I do. Normally, this delights us, but I recently learned not always!
This past weekend we had some friends over for a visit. The conversation was flowing smoothly, fun was being had by all. Snuggle Bug was cheerfully darting in and out of rooms throughout the house, smiling as he played.
Suddenly, Snuggle Bug walked into the room where the adults were conversing, in his newest dress-up outfit!
Umm...no, that's not a training bra (barely). Yes, it's mine.
"Hi Mama!" Snuggle Bug greeted me loudly. His face beamed with pride at the accomplishment of dressing himself in an article of my clothing.
As our friends (some of them parents of toddlers as well) chuckled appreciatively and gave me sympathetic glances, I wished the earth would open up and swallow me whole! Oronzo snapped this picture with his camera phone before Snuggle Bug flung off my bra with reckless abandon.
I think the time has come to shoo Snuggle Bug out of my bedroom room before trying to get dressed. And, do I need to worry about this latest cross-dressing phase? :)
Oh, and the concept of imitation being the highest form of flattery...well, in this case, not so much!

Heh -- I have a picture of Noah at just about that age doing just about the same thing (only it was right after his bath so the picture is much more compromising)!
LOL! Priceless! You gotta love Toddlers and their antics! He looks so cute though! I love the little pose" What a cutie!
Here it's the same, first it was Sun, and now Flower that wants to dress my clothes. I even got a picture of her with brother's boxers and socks.
Don't worry about this phase, soon he only wants his very own clothes.
Oh my goodness, how funny (although I'm sure not at the time)! Not to worry, he's just immitating mommy.
How funny! I needed that laugh this morning, thank you SnuggleBug!
So cute.....I love it....it's these moments we treasure and laugh at...enjoy them all.
hehe that is so awesome! My favorite part is as a blogger ... you got the picture too! hehe!
LOL!!! I love it! McKenna does the same with my bathing suit top!!!and then wears her hat!!thanks for sharing.
lolol!! This is hilarious... I know those days are just around the corner for me. Yikes! ;)
Reminds me of the time we were having the new neighbors over and one of the kids proudly brought out Mommy's Special Napkins.
Proof that you really can't die of embarassment
36C I'd guess!!!!
Got to be careful with kids.
One time, my 3-year old removed his shirt and, in front of the mirror, started flexing his muscles like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
"What are you doing?" my wife asked.
"Oh," my 3-year old said. "I'm being like Daddy."
I had to explain to my wife that I was just monkeying around when I did that ... I swear :)

Oh that is sooo funny!!!
And imitation IS the highest form of flattery! ;-)
oh if you could have heard me laughing when I pulled up this post and saw this picture! I can so relate! Kayla does the same thing with my bra! And I always said one of these days she was going to come running out of my room doing this when we had company! Thankfully that hasn't happened yet :)
HA! At least it wasn't dirty underwear!
THANK YOU THANK YOU. You have given me the best laugh of the day, and I sure needed it.
hahahaha, that is so funny. Sorry but it is...
My daughter twists other articles of clothing around herself and declares "Bra!" proudly.
And she loves to put on my underwear (many pair at a time) from the clean, folded laundry.
Overwhelmed,
Thank you for your comment on my blog!
Your Snuggle Bug is as cute as can be!
I am reminded of a time my friend's son stuck sanitary napkins all over himself, and came into the family room to show off his "stickers" to Grandpa :)!
At least it was a pretty bra, and not a ratty one. That would have been embarrassing.
