Good Friday to you all!
In preparation for this Sunday's Super Bowl XLI, Chicago Bears vs. Indianapolis Colts, it's time for the 2nd half of the Super Bowl Sunday edition of my Favorite Ingredients Friday recipe exchange! Click here for all the yummy 1st half recipes!
Please share with me your favorite appetizer, side dish, salad, or any other type of recipe that you'd find yourself serving at a Super Bowl Sunday party! :)
Before I share my recipe, I'd like to point your attention to my upcoming Favorite Ingredients Friday Valentine's Day chocolate edition! I hope you'll join me for this next Friday and spread the word!
Now, the appetizer I'm about to share is one that I love to order in restaurants, but why not enjoy it as home as well?! Thanks to this Kraft Foods recipe you can!
- 6 medium baking potatoes, baked
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 jar (15 oz.) CHEEZ WHIZ Cheese Dip, heated
- 1/4 cup OSCAR MAYER Real Bacon Bits
- 1/2 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
- 1/4 cup green onion slices
Preparation
- PREHEAT oven to 375°F. Cut potatoes in half lengthwise; scoop out centers, leaving 1/4-inch-thick shells. (Reserve centers for another use.) Cut shells in half crosswise.
- PLACE shells, skin sides down, on baking sheet; brush insides of shells lightly with oil.
- BAKE 15 min. or until golden brown. Top evenly with CHEEZ WHIZ, bacon bits, sour cream and onions.
I hope you enjoy this appetizer as much as I do! Now I look forward to seeing your Super Bowl Sunday edition Favorite Ingredients Friday recipe!

Oooo yummy! You've officially found my weakness :p Potato skins are one of my favorite foods and usually the only reason I'll go out to TGIF. So tasty! I can't wait to try these out this weekend. Thanks so much for sharing and for hosting! =)

Yummy! Potato skins are always a favorite of mine. Combines 2 of my favorite things: Potatoes and cheese. These sound easy too.
oops! sorry hit enter on Mr. Linky before I was finished. I'm up at http://zumfamily.blogspot.com/2007/02/favorite-ingredient-friday-beer-cheese.html with Beer cheese dip.
Ooooh, we LOVE potato skins! I normally make them with grated sharp cheddar cheese, but I like the convenience of using Cheez Whiz :) Thanks for sharing!
I second Larae's comment - that is why I go to TGIF restaurant is to get these! They are the best!!
thanks for the recipe!
Mine is up...
I love potato skins. I should make them sometimes, especially since you made it look so easy and yummy.
I love potato skins too! yummm!
I saw those in KFF and they look so good! I also love to order potato skins in restaurants and the TGI Friday's frozen version is pretty good too. But this makes doing it yourself look pretty easy -- and a great way to use up potatoes so they don't go to waste (which is always a problem around here!)
Awesome idea!! I'm just starting to get back on a routine.
Yummy Potato Skins!!!
Have a great weekend!!
This sounds super yummy and pretty easy which makes it even better! Hugs!
I am a HUGE fan of your site. I always look forward to Fridays to get some new yummy recipes. I feel guilty about always taking in the recipes and not giving any back. But I don't have a blog, so this makes it especially difficult. I am pretty sure people don't check your comments section for recipes but just in case, I am including our family favorite. I hope you enjoy it!
SHEEP DIP
16 oz. Sour cream
16 oz. Cream cheese (2 bricks)
1 jar chipped beef (sliced skinny)
1 small can diced chili's (mild)
1 cup+ shredded sharp cheddar cheese (I usually use about 2 cups....love cheese!)
Loaf of unsliced sheepherders bread
Mix ingredients together. Bake at 325 for 1 l/2 hours. (put lid on bread while baking).
I finally got mine up, almost forgot (oops) Anyway, the potato skins look great, thanks!
I buy the chopped frozen spinach. I like the baby spinach I think it is birds eye.
Me too about the book, I am hooked on Father Tim!
