This Friday, I thought we might have a Valentine's Day chocolate edition. I hope you can join me and you're welcome to grab a copy of my image to use! Now, when I think of chocolate, I think of desserts but I've heard there are more than just dessert chocolate dishes out there (like chocolate pasta), so don't feel as though you're limited to just desserts. Be creative if you'd like! Include pictures if you can.

I'm curious, how many of you like the idea of continuing on with more themed editions of my Favorite Ingredients Friday recipe exchange?
If you like the idea, would you be so kind as to leave me a comment with some suggestions on what types of themes you'd like to see in the future?
Everyone's opinion is important to me. I have my regular participants that submit recipes and I hope to hear from them, but I also hope to get feedback from those of you that just enjoy browsing through the recipes for menu ideas.
So, please, share your thoughts!

sounds like a good idea to me!!
Sounds like a great a idea. Maybe one Friday a month could be a theme. Maybe for a holiday, or pick a cuisine from a different country (i.e. French, Italian, German, Indian,etc.).
I like the idea of themes of all sorts. The holidays work well. But you could also pick a particular food, such as eggplant and see what creative recipes people come up with!
While I'm not an active participant in the 5-Ingredient Friday exchange, I so enjoy reading them and seeing if they're easy enough for me to try. I think you've got something good going on here, I hope it continues!!
I hope you and the family are doing well. I'm still keeping your adoption prospects in my prayers!!
I like the themes, but I also like the free-form format. Maybe follow Rocks in my Dryer's lead and have both like she does for Works for Me Wednesday??
Well, you definitely need a St. Paddy's theme - all foods Irish (or green ☺).
And a President's day one might be something novel. Maybe we could dig up some old recipes for that one - people could select a certain President and do some research on their favorite dish or a favorite the President's wife liked to make for him.
Easter of course should be fun...
How about a Spring Break theme? Foods to take to the beach or lake?
In June you could do a half way to Christmas theme ☺
And another one for all the young moms would be things kids can make safely or with Mom's assistance. I have a little cookbook I bought once with ideas and my kids loved it.
These are just a few things that popped into my head.
Hugs to you!
Well, you know how I think....how about once a month.....do a St Patrick's day one, an Easter one, Memorial/4th of July/Labor Day one, Vacation foods...for the car..snacks ect., Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Summer Foods, Back to School Foods, Mothers Day and Fathers Day foods, I love themed things....I'm in!
I do like the themed editions, OW. Chocolate isn't my thing (I know, I know) but I do have some wonderful recipes because the rest of my family is normal.
I'll have to think about ideas for other themes but when it's not near a holiday, even routine themes, like desserts, special drinks, favorite dinner salads, would be nice.
I think the themed recipes are a great idea! Next month you could do St Patty's Day menu w/Irish themes.
We used to do potluck dinners at our monthly spouses' group meetings. We did theme food items a couple of years ago. For the months that didn't have "anything" in particular (like Aug, Sep etc) we did themes like Mexican, Jewish, German, Asian. It was fun seeing all the different dishes we were able to come up with (thank goodness for the internet to find these culinary treats!)
what a great idea!!!Love it :) like others said different ideas.
Hi, you must have read my earlier comment! I think the themes are fun! I did lurk for a while pre-blog but am still a newbie! I think it's fun to have occasional themes with some free-for-all time in between. As I suggested before, would love to see a theme surrounding recipes kids love or recipes that kids can make. My 8 year old is so into helping in the kitchen! This weekend she is having a cooking birthday party. Thanks for sponsoring this - the weekends are really my best time to post so I am grateful for Favorite Ingredient Friday!
I like the idea of both as well....
i.e. themed and open items...
Everyone's ideas are great - kids themes, holiday themes, etc....
Another theme idea I have is how about Freezer Cooking Meals or recipes that freeze well? I always love it when I have a few things in the freezer I can pull out on busy days or take to a friend who might need a meal. Just a thought!
