Are you smarter than a 5th grader?
The Orlando Sentinel has an interesting quiz entitled, Are you smarter than a 5th grader? You have to go take the quiz! No cheating and using Google to look up the answers.
So, are you brave enough to come back and tell me how you did? If you leave me a comment with your score, I'll follow up on this post later today and share my score! :)
** Edited to add**
Okay, since some of you have been brave enough to share your scores, I'll now share mine. I got an 80%, which means I missed 4 of the questions. That heptagon question was one that threw me off. I had to go Google that one after I was done. Oronzo took the quiz and he got an 85%. It’s amazing how quickly you forget things when you’re out of school! I guess I’ll be re-learning some things when Snuggle Bug gets starts.

70 percent, good considering I don't think canadians learn that much about USA stuff. :)
I got a ninety.
75%. Horrible for me. The worst part is most of those I missed I second-guessed my initial thought which was right, all except the first answer.
Dude. I mean I could have sworn that the equinox was in October. And WTH is a heptagon, anyway? I got a 90% So I guess I'm an average 5th grader? :)
90%, which I'm pretty proud of given the fact I knew all the american-specific ones, and i'm not an american!
I got a 75, but it would have been higher if I hadn't changed my answer on that turtle question! ;) It was the math and science questions that tripped me up -- the story of my life!
60%- Too much second guessing. I should have stuck with my first response on a couple of them. Oh well, I guess I will have to learn it right along with the kids. Ask me anything related to kindergarten and I am all over it.
Fun test.
I knew I wouldn't ace it, I was only hoping I wouldn't fail, which I didn't thank goodness! I got a 70 which isn't that great, but oh well! I just don't remember a lot of that stuff LOL 2 of the answers I second-guessed myself too when I should have stuck with my first choice. Oh well. I'm sending this to Joe now; he'll probably get a 90-100, he's like that - storing lots of useless information in his head LOL
I only got 75%. I agree that it's so easy to forget this stuff...plus I second guessed too!
Have you seen this show on Fox? It cracks me up because every time I think I know an answer to something, I'm wrong. I feel like I need to go back to school!!
I adore that quote on education!!
I have not taken the quiz (typing one handed as it is :P ), but I find it interesting how little reattain when taught to memorize rather than experience learning.
I got 75% very sad =(((
To be perfectly honest I got a 100% but I am geeky like that. When I watch the show I can't believe what people don't know but do understand that some of the things I do know really don't do me any good and my hubby just says I'm a nerdy person. I love taking tests like this for some stupid reason.
That was fun! Hugs!
85%
What I need is "are you smarter than a five year old" but sadly, I already know the answer.
