guest post from cmhl
hey there! I'm normally found here, but am thrilled to be guest-posting for Overwhelmed with Joy!

See, here's the deal... I was going to do a "works for me Wednesday" post, but I have just successfully manuevered an in-law invasion, so I really have nothing.

No really.

Instead, let's have an audience participation post, 'kay?

Here are Five Things About Me That Some People Might Find Unusual...

  1. It is October 25th, and I have my Christmas tree up, and it is fully decorated. Yes, I know that is a little odd, but I needed to find something that the in-laws could participate in and I love having the tree up, soooooooo, Feliz Navidad!
  2. My youngest in in transitional kindergarten, and is all just lost her first tooth last week. Awwww. The odd part? I am a little casual about the "tooth fairy" deal, since I don't really want them to think I am lying to them when they get older, but we did discuss the tooth fairy in a roundabout way. As a result, both of my offspring because slightly freaked out about a fairy-creature breaking and entering into our house, and insisted on sleeping in the same room. And the fairy? She left a trail of pixie dust (oatmeal and colored sparkly sugar) from the front door to the room. Tooth fairy is rather festive, isn't she?
  3. I am overwhelmed by my laundry situation.
  4. I wear contact lenses for approximately 18 hours each day. Yes, clever readers, I don't get enough sleep.
  5. And finally, I love the color scheme on this blog, don't you? I find it very restful and relaxing. And Overwhelmed with Joy? She rocks. Don't doubt it for a minute.
So what about you? Give me some odd facts about yourself so I feel welcome!

I like that you have your Christmas tree up early. Extend the festivishness of the whole season. Something unusual, though not about me, my friend's stepmom keeps her tree up year round and just changes the decorations to suit the holiday- you know pumpkins and bats for Halloween, hearts and cupids for Valentines. Ok, ok one about me I like to put steak sauce on my pork chops- unusual? Perhaps not, but tasty, darn tasty!

Something unusual about me??? Okay, my husband thinks this is sick, weird, and disgusting. :o)
I like ketchup on Chick-fil-a sandwiches.

wow I can't believe you have your tree up already!!

I've become addicted to frozen grapes! Yep, need to have a cup in the freezer at all times so I can reach in and grab a handful for a snack!

Hard to see how the tooth fairy can be a scary apparition but it was at our house too...I wouldn't miss doing stuff like that for the world though. Making memories for little ones is a big deal.

Hmmm, odd fact? Very few people in my profession know more about internally illuminated signs than I do. Chew on that for a while!

I don't get the whole "lying to them" thing with the tooth fairy (Santa good, tooth fairy bad?), but that is just me I guess.

I could never put my tree us this early... mostly because we up until last year always had a live tree. We have way too many Halloween things up to start with Christmas decorations, but perhaps as soon as they come down... hmmmm.

Now let's see odd facts:

I used to be a "middle of the road" politically person, and my wife was the "bleeding heart liberal" It seems once our daughter was born we traded places, she has become much more conservative, and I have taken up the torch to save the world, and fight for women's rights (the effects of having a daughter I guess), etc.

Despite being overweight, I have extremely low bad cholesterol levels (I eat healthy... just too much of it). While I know I must lose the weight, in the meantime, I always get a kick out of doctors that look at my blood work befuddled by the fact that my cholesterol and other traits are not what they expect them to be for an overweight person.

I trust cmhl, and believe if I knew her in real life we could be friends. What do I base this on. Her eyes in her Blogger profile pic.

I Love Christmas but when I tried to talk my husband into having a year round Christmas house,...well it didn't fly.

Odd facts about me? I can't think of anything? Does that make me boring? Ha!
