WFMW (mesh laundry bag uses)
It's time to post yet another WFMW tip. This one will be quick and simple.

I have a mesh laundry bag that I absolutely love. I use it for more than just my delicate lingerie. Here's a short list of things I have used it for:

  1. Washing Snuggle Bug's toddler pillow. It fits perfectly inside & prevents it from getting torn up in the washer or the dryer.
  2. Snuggle Bug's little socks. No more lost socks in the washer or the dryer.
  3. Snuggle Bug's toys & stuffed animals. Occassionally they need a good cleaning and the mesh bag prevents them from falling apart in the washer.
  4. My panty hose and tights. No longer do they get tangled up in knots with the other pieces of laundry.

If you use your mesh laundry bag for other uses other than the ones I've listed, I'd love to hear about them, so please leave me a comment. :)

I use mesh bags for the same stuff... and also for pacifier straps and baby bibs with velcro closures (so the velcro can't stick to other clothing).
Great tip! Happy Wednesday!

Great tip. I have bought many mesh bags for such a purpose. Everytime I get ready to use it...it's gone!

I use mesh bags to hold bathtub toys. The toys can drain and dry nicely and the bags are pretty inexpensive compared to other tub toy holders I have checked out.

I use them for MY socks.

I bought three mesh bags for a dollar at the dollar store. I keep them right with my other washing items by my washing machine.

Great tips! I use mine sometimes for packing something delicate that I don't want pawed by airline inspecters.

I take mine on vacation along with my large laundry bags to put my delicates in. I also use zippered pillow cases (or pillow protectors) to wash things in. Great tip! Thanks for sharing!

Way to be first! You must be up at the crack of dawn?

Great tips! We also use ours for bathtub toys. I have a large one with handles and we hang it from our shower head. Helps drain the toys and they are out of the way for the rest of us :)

I've used them for hosiery but not some of the other things. Thanks for the thoughts!

I use them in the dishwasher - for chopsticks, the plastic sticks from popsicles, bendy straws, baby bottle collars and nipples, anything that might slip through the top rack or won't fit in the silverware basket!

Great ideas! I need to use mine more. Now, do you have a tip to keep track of them? :)

I use my mesh bags for all these things, too! I also use them for some of my girls little dresses that are lacy or frilly or have dainty ties on the back to keep them from getting caught on anything in the wash. I also use them for their princess dress up dresses for the same reason. And if they have anything with sequins or beads (like a sweater my daughter has) - ditto. Gosh, washing clothes for little girls is a lot harder than clothes for little boys! ;)

Thanks for the tip! Could you tell me about your child's toddler size pillow. We are just to the point where we need one.

I've loved reading your adoption story. We are currently praying about it for our family.

Thanks!

Good idea for little socks -- I swear that my machines eat them because I know I put 2 in, but only 1 comes out!! :) I like it for the stuffed animals as well. I've never had to wash Isabella, she never played with them or slept with them as much, but Amelia has to hold something when she goes to sleep and I noticed yesterday that the one she normally holds is looking a bit dirty, so thanks for that great tip!

I love those bags as well. I hope you had a great holiday. I have been gone so long I am playing catch up!

Hugs!

I use them for my bras in the laundry. And now that we are packing for our trip, we used them for socks, my underwear, and my bras. It is amazing how little space they take up in the suitcase. And you don't have your unmentionables out there for TSA to have a good laugh at! :-)

When your little snuggle bug gets older put 2 cup hooks in his closet. Then hang two mesh bags. One for dark socks and one for light socks and teach him how to sort. Then at alundry time all you have to do is zip it up and launder. My kids loved this and it is much easier to put together once clean.

"Snuggle Bug's little socks. No more lost socks in the washer or the dryer."
This will save me a bazillion dollars and even more headaches. One of Miss I's teachers asked if there was a cultural reason she never wore socks :)
Easy and awesome.

I'm glad I came back for a visit. I learned two more things:

1. Use it in the DISHWASHER
2. GET two bags for socks- One to put dirty dark socks in and one for the dirty light socks.
