Favorite Ingredients Friday- Memorial Day Edition

Good Friday! It's time for a special Favorite Ingredients Friday: Memorial Day Edition recipe exchange! Please share your favorite foods/beverages that you'd take to the beach or lake, or some snack foods that you could take in your car as you travel to your vacation spot.

Now, since I failed to post a reminder earlier this week, if you have a different kind of recipe and didn't use my Memorial Day image, that's okay. Go ahead and post what you've got! Sorry, it's been a busy week.

My recipe is something I found on allrecipes.com. It was originally submitted by Patty H. and it's delicious! I make it the day before a picnic.

Patty’s Pasta Salad

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds seashell pasta

1 (6 ounce) can pitted black olives, chopped

2 large tomatoes, chopped

4 ounces sliced pepperoni sausage, each slice cut in half

1/2 cup chopped green olives

3 bunches green onions, chopped

2 cups chopped ham

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 (16 ounce) bottle zesty Italian dressing

Preparation

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook pasta until al dente, rinse under cold water and drain.

In a large bowl, combine the pasta, black olives, tomatoes, pepperoni, green olives, green onions, and ham or turkey.

Before serving, add shredded mozzarella
and dressing.

Toss well and serve.
